Thank you for visiting my official web site. This is the first step in helping to create the positive change in our national government. And, we can't do it alone. Voting for me will help bring about that change if you elect me to the House of Representatives.
My name is Christina Avalos and I am the Democratic candidate for the 40th Congressional District.
For many years I have been active in the community promoting the well-being for all including, those who are often unrepresented and whose voices are unheard. As a counselor of those afflicted with drug addiction, alcoholism, AIDS and domestic violence, I have worked with them and their loved ones, in addressing solutions to their problems. That is why I am in favor of health care for all, because everyone deserves quality health care. With your vote, I will work to resolve wars and violence with our House or Representatives by redirecting our resources towards global and local alternative resolutions, such as by helping to pass and implement the Department of Peace, Legislation introduced by Congressman, Dennis Kucinich. The amount we already spend could be redirected in helping working families, such as to pay health care, bringing jobs back to our district, quality education, and alternative energy systems. We also have a duty to care in every way for our veterans because they have given their all for us.
There are many issues affecting all of us, especially the economy, energy and the environment. The solutions are intertwined in that the economy would be boosted with new green-collar jobs if we seek environmentally-friendly energy sources. Reducing our dependence on fossil fuels is a national and global security issue as it is an environmental issue. SUPPORTS REGULATION
Congress needs to enact legislation to regulate corporations so that the American taxpayers will not be forced into financial hardships. As a member of House committees, I would refuse to accept financial contributions from businesses I am overseeing.
